Oz Clarke's SeaFrance Wine Guide
Hi! I’m Oz Clarke. I’m the Wine Man. I’m here to guide you through the
world of wine - pointing out the tricky bits as they occur, but mostly
showing you that wine doesn’t have to be daunting and confusing. After all,
why does wine exist? To make us happy, to bring friends and family together
for a good laugh, to transform a simple meal into a party - whether for two
or for twenty. Because if a wine doesn’t make me smile I don’t see the
point of it, and at SeaFrance we want you to think the same way.
Shopping for wines in France is a great joy - you drive off the ferry and
head off away into the vineyard areas further south, whether you take
advantage of the great shopping on the north French coast around the Channel
ports (and don’t forget to eat: there are loads of delightful little
restaurants offering local fare at affordable prices - every village along
the Cote d’O pale seems to have at least one restaurant) - or whether you
buy from us, at our all-year-round low prices on board the ferry. I’ve
included a simple guide to the wines of France. I’ve asked - and answered -
some favourite questions. So, reach for your corkscrew, pour yourself a
glass and enjoy the site!
